Windows Defender is Blocked by Group Policy [SOLVED]

  • REG DELETE HKLMSOFTWAREPoliciesMicrosoftWindows Defender /v DisableAntiSpyware and hit Enter.

Step 6: Let the process complete and restart your computer.

Now you have successfully started the Windows Defender service on your computer. In above solution we have deleted a selected value from registry. If the error is still annoying you try other solutions as well.

Solution #5 Check if Windows Defender service is running

In this solution we are going to check if the Windows Defender service is running or not. If not then we are going to start it manually. Since many times we mistakenly turn off Windows defender service or some third party application turn off Defender service. We are going to use Services of Windows which allows us to enable, disable, start and stop any service in Windows. In order to check if the Windows defender service is running in background or not simply follow the steps down below.

Step 1: Press Window key + R and type services.msc and hit Enter.
